RicePoint Defective Graphics Processing Units

Litigation Type:

Consumer Class Action

In One Sentence:

RicePoint’s profile of the class led to the design and execution of a notice campaign combining newspaper advertising, digital advertising and social media.

Challenge:

For this consumer class action involving defective graphics processing units, our objective was to optimize take-up rates and increase claim submissions through a blend of digital and traditional efforts. Our challenge was to drive inefficiencies and excessive costs out of the system, to collectively redirect more settlement funds to class members and to reach the proper segmented target audience for the case.

Solution:

We executed a successful notice campaign that surpassed our objectives by entering into the digital landscape, where consumers interact and engage. By strategically integrating social media networks such as Twitter, we increased traffic to the case website, boosted claim submissions, and used social networking to make information easier to access.

Results:

  • We distilled the voluminous case details into a single infographic to help class members quickly understand the case and their rights.  The infographic received very positive feedback from the court, counsel and class members.
  • Twitter’s promoted tweets program generated 952K impressions, 59K online engagements and prompted 30,910 people to visit the case website.
  • There were 30,910 unique visitors to the case website, the average visitor stayed for 1 minute 27 seconds and 86% of all visitors to the site were from Canada.
  • In its first two months, the Twitter campaign garnered more than 490K impressions of which 86% were generated by an in-house designed infographic.
  • The press release (disseminated with the infographic) generated 111 web clips (pickups from media outlets).

We distilled the voluminous case details into a single infographic to help class members quickly understand the case and their rights. The infographic received very positive feedback from the court, counsel and class members.
