Gerry Mullins


As President Gerry leads RicePoint’s initiatives and guides an experienced team of public accountants, case managers, information technology experts, notice administrators, and social media specialists. He brings nearly 20 years of strategic oversight and financial operations expertise. Additionally, he serves as a liaison to Computershare, RicePoint’s parent company, and serves as President of KCC, a US based claims administration company. Over the years, he has fostered strategic relationships with major financial institutions to bring alternative financial solutions to clients.

While also serving as President of KCC, in 2016 Gerry became President of RicePoint. Prior to becoming President of KCC, Gerry was KCC’s Chief Financial Offi cer, a position he assumed after serving as the US Controller at Computershare for nearly 10 years. He previously held financial leadership roles with the Irish Dairy Board and Price Waterhouse Coopers.

Gerry earned a Masters in Business Studies from Dublin City University, where he also completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Finance. He is a Chartered Accountant.


David Weir

David founded and led RicePoint up to its acquisition by Computershare in August of 2016. As Senior Vice President of Business Development, David oversees the strategic direction and business development of RicePoint’s notice and claims administration business.

During his extensive career in the settlement industry, David has worked on numerous notable cases reaching up to $2.5 billion in settlement funds. Some noteworthy cases include Mignacca et al. v. Merck Frosst Canada Ltd. et al., The Trustees of the Labourers’ Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada et al. v. Ernest & Young LLP, Pro-Sys Consultants Ltd et al. v Infi neon Technologies AG, Quenneville et al. v. Volkswagen Group of Canada Inc. et al., and Clifford J. Anderson et al. v Her Majesty The Queen et al.

David holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Masters of Business Administration from Ivey School of Business, Western University. Additionally, David has extensive volunteer experience coaching hockey and baseball and working with organizations such as Big Brothers, Rotary and Special Olympics.


Michael Mooney

Senior Vice President of Business Development

As Senior Vice President of Business Development, Michael has more than a decade of government administration expertise and experience having worked on some of the largest, most intricate and notable class action settlement and voluntary redress programs in Canada.

Michael oversees and manages the strategic and operational development and execution of RicePoint’s government class action services to ensure high-quality, cost-effective notice and settlement administration processes.

Michael has built up business systems and processes that aid not only his clients, but also the Canadian government. This partnership and management of complex litigation cases has made Michael a trusted counsel and invaluable leader.

He has taken the leadership role in numerous government, consumer products, antitrust and securities fraud cases. Notable cases he has administered include: Hepatitis C class action settlement, Residential Schools Class Action Litigation, KPMG Overtime Redress Plan, and Walkerton Class Action Settlement.


Patrick Passarella

Patrick brings over 25 years of experience to his role as Senior Vice President of Class Action Services. He manages all aspects of operations for KCC Class Action Services in Louisville, KY and our Canadian presence at RicePoint Administration in London, Ontario.  He is responsible for oversight of all aspects of class action services including consumer, employment, securities and antitrust practices and works with teams across both countries to effectively and efficiently manage settlements through completion.  Patrick drives the strategic development and implementation of internal processes while working with the executive management and business development teams to promote services to new clients. 

Patrick has developed excellent operational experience at a senior level within multiple organizations, leading and managing activities to achieve results.  He has successfully analyzed and evaluated processes and procedures in order to identify areas for improvement, leading initiatives in conjunction with internal and external teams and executive management in order to ensure comprehensive implementation.  

Prior to joining RicePoint, Patrick served as a Senior Manager in Computershare's Business Solutions Group where he studied the principles of Lean Six Sigma. Previously, he served as Vice President of another class action settlement administration firm. During his tenure, Patrick oversaw the company’s consumer division and led his team to successfully administer over 400 settlements.  Later he managed the company’s Midwest regional office focused on improving the company's operating processes and procedures to increase operating productivity and reduce costs. Over the course of his career, he has managed more than 1,200 class action settlements and is an expert in claims processing and class member communications.

Patrick studied Business Administration at State University of New York in Farmingdale.


Shawn Gilhula

Director of Operations

Shawn brings two decades of settlement administration experience to his role of Director of Operations. As the Director of Operations, Shawn oversees the daily procedure and client interactions of RicePoint’s Government Division. He is responsible for all aspects of division projects including pricing, procedures and protocols and oversees mail intake, document input and scanning divisions along with help desk functions and quality control.

He brings a depth of knowledge, insight and understanding of the settlement industry and its processes, making him an invaluable asset to the RicePoint team. Shawn is seen by his team and clients as a trusted, informed, and meticulous problem-solver. He consistently goes above and beyond to provide, streamlined and cost-effi cient solutions for his clients.

Shawn has been integrally involved in some of Canada’s most prominent cases both national and provincial. These cases include Shell Polybutylene Pipes, KPMG – Overtime Redress Plan, Behr Wood Sealant, Walkerton Compensation Plan and Roth and Fifield –Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped.

Shawn received his Diploma in Law and Security Administration from Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. Additionally, he is a Chartered Insurance Professional, is a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada, has been a Licentiate in Adjusting since 1993.


Ivan Bobanovic

Director of Operations

Ivan brings a decade of experience in the class action industry to his role as Director of Operations. During his time with RicePoint, Ivan has overseen more than 60 Canadian settlements of varying size and complexity with more than $2 billion in settlement funds distributed. Ivan played a leading role in the development of the notice and media team, and continues to work closely with that team to develop new strategies and improve access to justice.

Ivan holds an Honors, Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario, and the Canadian Securities Course. He is fluent in English and French and a member of numerous non-profit organizations.
